Mat Pilates
Mat Pilates is all about building strength, flexibility, and body awareness, in a way that feels gentle, achievable, and completely personal. Sessions are small (1-2-1 or max two people), so you always get guidance that’s tailored to you.
As a certified Advanced Stott Pilates teacher, I teach a method that’s anatomically based, evidence-informed, and focused on safe, functional movement. Stott Pilates restores the natural curves of your spine, engages your deep stabilising muscles, and balances strength and flexibility throughout your body. By concentrating on posture, core activation, controlled movement and breath, it’s not only effective, it’s surprisingly addictive. People often leave feeling stronger, taller, more aligned… and already looking forward to their next session.
Mat Pilates works for everyone and for all ages, from beginners to serious athletes wanting to improve mobility, core strength and posture. And beyond the physical benefits, it has a quiet way of making you feel genuinely amazing in your own body. You’ll be surprised by what you can do, how strong you really are, and how quickly your confidence grows. My goal is to help you feel balanced, empowered, capable, and completely at home in the body you live in.
What to expect

In your first Mat Pilates class at The Pilates Room, we’ll start with a gentle postural and movement analysis to get a clear picture of how your body is working, what feels strong, what feels tight, and what needs a little extra care.
From there, I’ll build a personalised programme of 50-minute classes on the mat using small equipment. Each class is tailored to your goals, your lifestyle and the way your body moves. Your sessions will progress gradually as your strength, stability and confidence grow, always at a pace that feels supportive, encouraging and genuinely enjoyable. Your body is amazing and you'll soon be amazed at what it can do.
And don’t worry about fancy kit, just come in something comfy and stretchy that you can move freely in. You’re welcome to bring your own mat, but if you don’t have one, I’ve got you covered.
And a quick practical tip...don't forget to wear something comfy and stretchy that you can move easily in, plus a pair of grippy socks to help you feel secure on the equipment.
